Artwork Guidelines

At The Working Wardrobe, our expert team works closely with every customer to make sure their logo or artwork looks its best when printed or embroidered. Here are a few helpful tips to keep in mind when preparing your design.

Quick Answers to Common Artwork Questions

Preparing artwork for your garments is easy with the right guidance. Check out our common questions to make sure your design looks perfect every time.

What is the Maximum Size My Logo Can Be?

The maximum print width is 30 cm, and the maximum embroidery width is 25 cm. Your logo or image height will automatically adjust to keep the correct proportions based on the width you choose.

What File Type Should I Provide?

For the best print and embroidery results, we recommend using a vector file such as .ai, .eps, or .pdf.

We also accept a wide range of file types, including jpg, gif, bmp, ai, eps, pdf, png, psd, svg, tif and many more.

What is Digitisation?

Each embroidery logo is carefully recreated in a digital format so our machines can stitch it with precise accuracy and detail. You will always receive an artwork proof for any new embroidery design before production begins.

What if my design is not suitable?

If your design is not suited to your chosen customisation method or garment, our team will explain why and suggest the best alternatives to make sure your finished clothing meets our quality standards.

Positions We Can Print and Embroider

We can print or embroider your design in a variety of positions, depending on the garments you choose. Common placements include the left or right chest, full front, sleeves, or across the upper back.

If you need something a little different, our team is happy to help. Get in touch before placing your order and we will find the best option for your design.

Quality Requirements of Artwork

For the best results, we recommend providing the highest quality version of your logo or image, ideally 300 DPI or higher. If your file is too low in quality for printing or embroidery, our team will be in touch to discuss the best way forward.

At The Working Wardrobe, we take pride in checking every design before production to make sure your clothing looks its absolute best - we care about the finished result as much as you do.

Image Background Transparency

We are often asked about logo transparency, which is when a logo does not have a solid background, but there is no need to worry. Our expert team removes backgrounds before production, making sure your logo always looks clean and professional.

If your logo or design includes transparent areas and you can supply your artwork in different formats, we always recommend doing so. File types like PNG, EPS, and SVG are ideal, as they support transparency and ensure a crisp, professional finish.

Garment Customisation Limitations

Some customisation methods have limitations. For example, designs with colour gradients or very intricate details may not work well for embroidery. Unlike other providers who might refuse your order, our expert team will work with you after your order is placed to adjust your design, ensuring it can be embroidered to a high standard.
